Nexus 7 LTE finally receives Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS update

Finally!  The Over-The-Air Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS update for Nexus 7 2013 LTE-version has arrived.

Months have already passed since Google announced the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS update, and many people have been wondering why it has not reached the LTE version of the Nexus 7 tablet.

The update is claimed to bring a myriad of bug fixes found in the 4.4.3 version of the operating system as well as solutions to security issues such as the OpenSSL bug. The software update will upgrade the device to "improve performance, security, stability and fixes bugs."

According to reports, the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS is a crucial software update, being the final version of the Kitkat OS. However, the final version brings very small changes to the user interface of the OS.

Users can update the device through the Over-The-Air update notification sent to the device. Some users opt to update their device manually through ADB, which is quite complicated and are for tech savvy users who are itching to get their hands on the update.

One of the probable reasons for the delay is Google's practice of slow roll outs. This allows Google to catch unexpected bugs and issues that may emerge from the update, letting them rectify the issues first before releasing to more people. Slow roll outs also prevent Google's servers from overloading, which may halt the daily operation of the servers.

Thus, for Android users who have not yet received the update notification, there is no need to worry or panic since the roll out does not take place all at once. Some users may receive the notification ahead of others.

The Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS update requires 285 MB of free space. When installing the software, users must ensure that their smartphones have enough battery and has a strong Internet connection. Moreover, it is a great precaution to back up files and data before heading on with the update.
