Just a couple of months after it was made available to the market, the Nexus 5X starts exhibiting various issues that prompted flak and outcry from users. The biggest concern is the device's tendency to stop responding and start crashing and lagging when being plugged for a juice-up.
Some plagued users believe that the source of the problem is the USB Type-C charger that came with the handset. Users noticed that when they juice up their handset with it, the device stops responding and it is believed it's because Google went with plastic for the grounding pin instead of metal.
In their search for a solution, some users found that using other chargers when juicing up the Nexus 5X will do the trick, making them further believe that there's something wrong with the charger that came packaged with the handset. At the moment, users opt to use a USB Type-A to charge it up.
Frustrated users sounded off on Google Nexus Help Forums, Reddit and XDA and helped each other come up with a way out. Android Authority reports that not all users are experiencing the issue, with some Nexus 5X owners claiming they went through no such problem.
According to several media outlets, majority of the devices having problems are the Nexus 5X units manufactured last September (when the device was launched) are affected, although some users with the October-manufactured units have the same gripe.
It appears that the units put out this month are not vulnerable to the said issue. Android Authority believes that LG and Google are already familiar with the problem and made it right with the November units. That being said, the collaborators may have a patch ready to address the concern.
Other Nexus 5X problems being complained about by users also include upside down camera captures and mobile hotspot issue.
