New York Knicks Rumors: Karl-Anthony Towns to be a Knick?

Karl-Anthony Towns Wikipedia

The New York Knicks want a center badly and given the chance in the coming NBA Draft, they are expected to go after the best available big man. And that man happens to be Karl-Anthony Towns of Kentucky who ironically says he would love to be a Knick.

Towns had apparently grown up following the Knicks, a well-kept Knicks ballcap which should properly support that claim.

With a rebuilding Knicks in need of a promising center, Towns will certainly be a good fit as he could combine with Carmelo Anthony up front.

But this can only be made possible if Towns is still available in the pool once it is their time to select. The Knicks are expected to be among the top five teams to take first crack in the NBA Draft but the availability of Towns could be put into question.

The Knicks have mentioned that they could opt to trade their pick for a seasoned veteran since there will be a number of free agents available this year. Among the big men that the Knicks could very well consider include that of Lamarcus Aldridge, Brook Lopez or maybe even DeAndre Jordan.

However, landing a veteran big man may be tight although the Knicks have the salary cap space to work on. As of this writing, the Knicks are trying to find options on landing Aldridge who is also on the target list of the recently dethroned San Antonio Spurs.

So if that becomes the case and things become chippy, the Knicks could be better off with Towns where the ballclub could develop the former Kentucky center. But the question there is are the Knicks willing to wait for Towns to develop wholly.

First thing's first though, the Knicks will be looking at who they can get their hand on the NBA Draft. After that, skimming through the list of available free agents would be next, perhaps the point where they can more or less gauge on whether to keep their draft pick or use him as trade bait for someone better in free agency.
