New York Knicks news: Quincy Acy meted one game ban

The New York Knicks' woes just continue to pile up. After figuring in an ugly incident with Washington Wizard star John Wall last December 25, Knick forward Quincy Acy has been meted a one game suspension by the NBA.

Acy was meted the suspension for his flagrant foul 2 on John Wall. During that game, Acy knocked down Wall with a hard foul with about 5:31 remaining in the match. Wall didn't like the foul he received from Acy and pushed the Knick forward.

Acy looked like he was ready to throw a punch at Wall after the push but did end up throwing his arm towards Wall's head. With the suspension, Acy will be missing the Knicks next assignment against the Sacramento Kings. He can suit up when the Knicks meet Portland on Sunday.

"It was just a foul. If somebody has a fast break and you step up and grab them, it's the same concept," Acy said to ESPN.

Wall on the other hand was meted a $15,000 fine for escalating the incident but was not meted any suspension.

This marks the second time that a Knick player was meted a one-game ban against the same team. Back in November, J.R. Smith was penalized for elbowing Wizard Glen Rice Jr.

In all, it seems that the Knicks are still groping form as they try to survive their first season under head coach Derek Fisher and president Phil Jackson. Carmelo Anthony, who opted to stay on with the Knicks over various lucrative team offers, aired his side on the misfortunes of the Knicks.

"The fans are dying, we're dying," Carmelo Anthony said, according to NY Daily. "We're out there, we're not producing. We didn't expect, I didn't expect to be sitting at 5-26. So as much as I feel for the fans, I feel for us going through it, too. I don't expect (anybody) to feel sorry for us."

Despite their plight, Anthony believes that the team can still get on track. Though nothing has been going their way, Melo believes that the team is not giving up and that they do have all not lost confidence with each other.
