New 'Minecraft' patch rolls out after 1.8.2 update

An update Mojang released for "Minecraft" came with a hiccup. "Minecraft" version 1.8.2 was saddled up with a major bug that causes lags and crashes on the game's World load, which prompted the developers over at Mojang to deploy another patch to fix the newfound issue.

Mojang acknowledged the problem straight away after it was brought up via the "Minecraft" issue tracker, allowing the studio to find a solution without delay. It gave its word that a brand new patch was in the works to eliminate the glitch so a day after 1.8.2 came out, "Minecraft" version 1.8.3 rolled out.

Not only did the bug evaporate but it also allowed players to enjoy the goodies included in version 1.8.2 the way Mojang wanted them to.

"Minecraft" update 1.8.2 was meant to bring along bug fixes. It had to go through seven pre-releases before it was deemed ready for mass consumption. With 1.8.2, the ability of in-game mobs to react in the spectator mode was slashed. This is for the mode to stay true to its name and for players to watch without interacting. It also changes the way beacons react to bedrock, TNT physics and generate locations for animals like ocelots and squids.

Here is the complete list of changes to expect in the sandbox construction game with 1.8.2.

  • Beacons work inconsistently in the Nether
  • Items placed into a beacon are lost upon destroying it or reloading a world
  • Tellraw crashes if clickEvent is an URL without "http://"
  • Keyboard input causes mouse look to stutter or jerk
  • Mooshrooms incorrectly display custom mushroom models
  • Mooshroom udder texture does not display correctly
  • Beacon stops working at a certain height
  • Beacons in Nether need clear path to "sky"
  • Able to hit a block behind out of range entity.
  • Single Player: Can't select any of the previous created worlds in Java 8
  • Pre-existing vines on east and west sides of blocks are rendered at the wrong face of the block
  • Glass Pane image flipped
  • villages.dat stores player names instead of UUIDs
  • Hopper: java.lang.NullPointerException: Updating screen events
  • Huge Mushrooms Generate Incorrectly
  • Hoppers grab items from minecarts, that aren't standing directly above them
  • Various particles near world border rendered incorrectly
  • Changing owner of Enderpearl doesn't work.

Updates 1.8.2 and 1.8.3 are available in the "Minecraft" launcher.
