'NCIS' season 12 spoilers: Palmer to be a father, Navy Lieutenant murdered in episode 13

"NCIS" season 12 is taking a break this week as they are giving way to the slaughter that are the awards shows and the Super Bowl XLIX Kick Off. But, the show will return next week with a very intriguing episode.

Season 12 episode 13 is titled "We Build, We Fight" and it's a special one. It tackles a very important issue in the U.S. military, which is quite brave for "NCIS" to acknowledge. And of course, Palmer is getting ready for another stage in his life.

"We Build, We Fight" is about a gay Navy lieutenant who was murdered right before he was to receive his Medal of Honor. The team investigates who the killer is and the motive for the crime. This issue leans toward hate crime in the military service.

But apart from the ongoing investigation, Gibbs and Jimmy Palmer take time to handle their personal lives as well. For Palmer, he is getting ready to become a father as his wife's due date is getting near. The NCIS team throws him a baby shower. This should be very fun to see, given that the gang is almost always serious in the episodes. It will be nice to watch them relax and unwind every now and then.

As for Gibbs, he meets his ex-girlfriend in this episode, who happens to be married already. Susanna Thompson will play Hollis Mann.

Elsewhere, the gang had a blast reuniting at the recent Golden Globes party. Brian Dietzen (Jimmy Palmer) tweeted a photo with almost everyone. Surprisingly, even Cote de Pablo was there. The photo was captioned: "Had a great time at the @CBS Golden Globe party tonight."

"NCIS" season 12 will return next week, Feb. 3, with an all-new episode on CBS. The episode is directed by Rocky Carroll, who actually plays NCIS Director Leon Vance.
