Now that Callen knows that his father Nikita Aleksandr Reznikov is alive and well, "NCIS LA" season 7 will dig into his involvement with the KGB. The new season of the hit series will be generous to show what the Soviet Agent was up to all the time his loved ones thought he's dead.

Upon the show's return, it will ultimately reveal why Callen hasn't heard from him and it will fundamentally flesh out everything about the man. On the other hand, fans of the Nell and Eric pairing won't see much of the shipped lovebirds in the new season.

"We've kind of taken a break from the Eric and Nell story while Kensi and Deeks are kind of in the heat of their relationship," actress Renée Felice Smith, who plays the role of Nell, told Connected Digital World during the MCM London Comic Con.

"With Kensi and Deeks, it's kind of tough to have two couples that are actually together at the same time and to show all of that," she went on to say, although quickly noting that her character and Eric will nonetheless couple up in the future, just not in season 7 of the series.

"NCIS" star Michael Weatherly, who plays cult-favorite character Agent Tony DiNozzo,  is said to make an appearance in at least one episode in the spinoff's new season. More details about this exciting crossover should be dropping soon.

Speaking of "NCIS," Agent Gibbs' fate still hangs in the balance. After being shot and left to bleed to death by a juvenile recruit of a terrorist organization during a mission. It is still unknown whether or not he will make it out alive but whatever the outcome is, the rest of the characters' lives will never be the same.

"NCIS LA" season 7 will premiere on Sept. 21.
