NBA trade rumors: 76ers to keep or trade Henry Sims?

 Wikipedia

The Philadelphia 76ers have a handful of players that other teams would be interested in getting. The list would include Michael Carter-Williams, Nerlens Noel and maybe Joel Embiid once he does get healthy. But how about Henry Sims?

Henry Sims is not the typical flashy player but he has been able to get work done. He fights for rebounds and is a tough defender. Sims could be a coach's dream, a role player who would not be afraid to handle the dirty work and think about offense next.

Quiet and unnoticed considering the 76ers fortune, Sims found himself donning the Sixers jersey as part of the deal that saw Spencer Hawes heading to Cleveland. While the trade is not really a high profile one, it remains that Sims has proven his worth despite the fortunes of the team.

Only 24, Sims could be a great role player for any team. His presence in Philly has allowed Nerlens Noel to slide down to the forward position though such has not produced real results.

Sims has been holding fort and may see himself sliding to backup should Embiid get a clean bill of health. But for now and with the trade deadline fast approaching, would it be wise to trade Sims?

The best that the team could get would perhaps be second round picks or maybe even cash. But at the rate that the Sixers are performing, it could be leaning more to younger players which mean rookie prospects in the coming or successive drafts.

For Sims, his performance and fighting heart should be a big plus for any team that is still in contention. But chances are it won't be a one-for-one trade. Rather, Sims could be part of a package deal if the Sixers are looking to consummate a trade.

But from the looks of it, Sims could be the last person to be traded at this point since all eyes are really on Carter-Williams and Nerlens Noel.
