Now that the NBA trade is nearing its deadline, rumors on who's switching to which side are rampant. This time, the New York Knicks is expected to trade off its point guard, Jose Calderon. Latin Times notes that the Knicks seems to be incapable of managing a successful triangle offense when helmed by Derek Fisher. The team has a poor record, a sad 4-20. This, as Latin Times noted, puts the Knicks in the most losses board in all of National Basketball Association. After losing in each of its 10 most recent games, it is trailing in fourth place in the Atlantic division and is 13th overall in the Eastern Conference.

A player like Calderon, who averages seven assists per game and nails 87.4 percent of his free throws, is a good catch for teams struggling in the art of passing. Hence, Miami Heat comes to mind. Since the team became Lebron-less, Mario Chalmers plugged away for effective distribution of the ball. Add to that Dwayne Wade's run of the mill assists that amounts to no more than 5.8. Calderon donning a Miami Heat jersey, next to power forward Chris Bosh, will make a complete turnaround. Heat currently stands on the 20th spot in terms of game assists but probably not with Calderon around with them in the field.

But should Heat thrust the offer aside, the Houston Rockets is also pitted for Calderon's switch. Latin Times said that the roster lacks an excellent point guard and their search may finally be over. Although the team's record is remarkable (17-5), their assists landed them only on the 24th spot. Despite being assists masters, James Harden and Kostas Papanikolaou may still need Calderon's help in upping their ranking. The former has 143 on record while the latter has 57.

Lastly, Calderon may also find a new home in Los Angeles Lakers. The team is presently at number 23 in the assists category and they need work. They are also in a precarious position with dire numbers to show (6-16). In addition, Latin Times remarked that Jeremy Lin and Kobe Bryant do not mix well together in terms of game play (the latter has assists that go up to 103).

While Calderon joining the Lakers is promising, Christian Post reported that the team may go for Rajon Rondo instead. Recently, the Boston Celtics point guard had breakfast with Bryant at The Paramount in Beacon Hills, sparking rumors that discussions about the possible swap are in progress. However, it was eventually reported that no trade plans were brought up during the NBA superstars' rendezvous.
