NBA 2015 rumors: Raptors, Warriors eyes Javale McGee

Javale McGee is the center of attention this week as the 7-footer is expected to hit the free agent market briefly. McGee started out the season in Denver but was eventually traded to the Philadelphia 76ers.

He played only six games before being waived by the Sixers. He is expected to hit free agency this week.

A number of teams are reportedly interested in the athletic big man. Teams who have signified their intentions include the Boston Celtics, the Golden State Warriors, the Toronto Raptors, the Houston Rockets.

The Dallas Mavericks were also interested in McGee but it seems that they have had a change of heart, announcing that they do not plan to make any roster changes for now.

But of all the teams in mention, the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors are the frontrunners to try and sign the 6-year NBA vet. The Raptors are looking for the best available big man in the free agent market as they look to improve on their interior defense.

McGee certainly fits the bill and could provide some bonuses along the way considering he has been known for making spectacular block and flashy dunks which should work to the advantage of the Raptors

The Warriors on the other hand could use McGee as well to hone up its frontline. With Bogut frequently in and out of sick bay, the Warriors are looking for assurance and make sure that their frontline would not suffer heading into the NBA playoffs.

Of course, don't count out other teams just yet. McGee could be a big help to any team, even for just a limited role.
But for now, it seems to be a toss-up between the Raptors and the Warriors. Where he ends up should be known before the week closes.
