NBA 2015 rumors: Could DeAndre Jordan move to Dallas Mavericks?

Could DeAndre Jordan jump over to Dallas after this season?

The long-time LA Clippers and Houston, Texas native seems to be playing with the idea since it could signal a homecoming of sorts. And all these developed just after his team, the Los Angeles Clippers, eliminated the Mavericks in the first round of the NBA Western Conference playoffs.

The new rumors, if true, somehow negate the initial belief that Jordan would be staying on with the Clippers but on a one-year deal. Further, it becomes a complete turnaround from initial claims that Jordan claimed he would not be greedy.

However all that may change if Jordan is given a lucrative offer by the Mavs. For Jordan, it is all about getting a fair deal.

The 26 year old slotman was originally drafted in 2008 by the Clippers and is certainly one of the top centers the NBA has to date. However, there is one flaw in his game – free throws. Jordan is one of the players who fall prey to the celebrated Hack-a-Shaq technique, something that NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is contemplating of looking into once the season is over.

With Tyson Chandler no longer as young as he used to be and a frequent visitor to the injury list, landing Jordan could be a good boost for Dallas. He can most certainly compliment Dirk Nowitzki and Chandler Parsons if he does get on board.

Also, do remember that Jordan is looking for a one-year deal. The Mavericks have rarely signed a player long-term (except for Nowitzki) so that could somehow match what Jordan is looking for.

Though these rumors are now gaining ground, it remains to be seen if the Clippers would give in easily. Having invested in the development of Jordan for the last seven years is something so it remains to be seen if they will give up on Jordan that easily.

In the end, the decision lies on Jordan. He did express interest but that doesn't mean that he is 100% sure of jumping on the Dallas Mavericks bandwagon.
