NBA 2015 rumors: Is Baron Davis planning a comeback this year?

Much of the focus these days is on Ray Allen, someone who doesn't seem likely to make a comeback. But at the sidelines, a once familiar name who unceremoniously went out of the NBA picture is reportedly planning a comeback.

His name? Baron Davis.

Davis last played in the NBA in 2012 where he played for the Knicks. However, he had a sorry exit during the first round of the NBA playoffs after injuring his right knee as he was bringing the ball down the court. It would later on be diagnosed that Davis had completely torn his ACL and MCL which required him to get surgery. It was the last time NBA fans would see of Davis who was assumed to have retired.

Despite being left out, Davis has reportedly kept in shape. However, questions surface on how 'in shape' Davis is since he has had a history of being a player who did not work hard to stay in shape.

To his credit, Davis has been named two times to the NBA All-Star game (2002 and 2004). Other accomplishments include being the NBA Skills Challenge Champion in 2004, being a member of the 2004 All NBA Third team and the league's leader in swipes during the 2004 and 2007 seasons.

At least two teams are reportedly to be in talks with Davis, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Clippers. Such rumors could materialize if Davis is able to prove that he is truly in shape.

If ever, it would be his veteran smarts that teams would need heading into the final stages of the current season.

Also, Davis could help mentor the young guns in the league. If he ends up in Cleveland, chances are he could help Kyrie Irving hone his skills.

Will this materialize? Some are skeptical but let us wait in the coming days.
