Moto X 3rd Gen release date this summer? Specs and features to expect

If Motorola stays the course, the Moto X Third Gen may be out by either August or September 2015 at the latest.

Though its current handset, the Moto X (Gen 2) is still practically fresh from its August 2014 release, focus now lies on the Moto X Third Gen which could speculatively be out six to seven months from now. The first Moto X was released in August, 2013.

And that hunch could be as well as good thanks to a tweet by Motorola President Rick Osterloh who stressed that they will stay on a roughly annual cycle for all their products, including (presumably) the Moto X.

Among the highlights of the Moto X 3rd Gen include a rumored 810 Snapdragon processor and a smarter device compared to other ones available in the market.

It will also have an always-on Moto Voice feature which can recognize voice commands that will reportedly not impact battery performance.

Aside from those aforementioned rumored specs, nothing has been made official yet by Motorola although hopes are high that the successor would improve on the other previous specs that the Moto X (2nd Gen) had.

For those who are unaware, the Moto X 2nd Gen came out with a 5.2-inch full HD AMOLED display, a stylish aluminum frame and of course a pretty affordable price. However there were concerns about some other stuff as well.

That included the phone not having provisions for a microSD card slot and camera issues which many claim had been inconsistent. Having detailed that, it remains to be seen if Motorola was able to address these issues in the coming Moto X 3rd Gen.

With all that said, critics believe that the Moto X is made for the avid Android user though there are a lot of points they can improve on.

Could Motorola have addressed all this with the Moto X 3rd Gen? Let see in about six (to seven) months time.
