Moto X (3rd gen) 2015 release date, rumors: Image of purported flagship emerges

The Moto X 2015, Motorola's alleged new offering, was leaked multiple times. The newest image is not the best in terms of quality but it still gives something. Just recently, what is believed to be a render of the upcoming handset surfaced and was bounced around on Twitter.

Taking a closer look at the blurry, small-sized photo would reveal that the third-generation Moto X will have a different LED flash positioning than its predecessor, although the dimpled plate on the back where the main camera and the Motorola logo sit is still part of its look but possibly with Droid Turbo's Kevlar for its chassis.

The display as seen in the render shows that Motorola's glance notifications called Active Display will be integrated in the Moto X 2015. Also eye-catching is the presence of two speaker grilles, which GSM Arena hopes are stereo speakers rather than mono, which the second generation handset had.

As for the specs of the smartphone, rumor mills say that it will show up with an impressive 5.2-inch (some say 5.7 inches) Quad HD display (2560 x 1440 pixels). It is rumored to have a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor under the hood and a whopping 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage.

Users can take pictures and videos with the Moto X 2015's 16-megapixel rear-facing shooter and take a ton of selfies with its 5-megapixel camera on the front. The device is said to have a Type USB-C port as well, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, Google's current OS, will be onboard.

Motorola is expected to take the covers off the new generation smartphone as early as summer but Techno Buffalo predicts that the Lenovo-owned company will likely resort to releasing the highly-anticipated device sooner rather than later after all these big leaks and rumors (and possibly a whole lot more coming).
