Moto DROID Turbo: Leaked photos prove device will be released soon

Before the rumored release date of the Moto DROID Turbo next week, new images of the alleged Motorola smartphone called Moto DROID Turbo have been leaked.

Twitter user @evleaks posted a photo on Oct. 19 of the alleged device, wherein the prominent logos of Motorola and Verizon can be seen at the rear of both the red and black variants of the upcoming smartphone. He captioned the photo: "These actually are the Droids you're looking for."

Earlier, Verizon set up a website called DROID DOES which shows a countdown clock that will end on Oct. 28. Underneath the clock, a caption saying "Launch date set. All will be revealed." can be seen. On top of it all, a darkened device that looks like the rumored DROID Turbo can be found. It could mean that the American network provider is announcing the arrival of the new Moto product on the said date.

Rumored specs for the upcoming smartphone say that it will have a 2.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, a clear 5.2-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad HD display, 3 GB RAM, as well as 32 GB internal storage space. It will also feature a very powerful 21-megapixel rear camera as well as a sturdy 3900 mAh battery with Turbo charging support. It is also said to run on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.

This is Motorola's new way of competing with other mobile brands in the smartphone market.

The company struggled to stay afloat after the flip phones became a thing of the past, but the recent sales to Google and then to Lenovo gave it a new lease on life.

Prior to the DROID Turbo, Motorola released decent new smartphone lines such as the new Moto G, then they came up with the impressive Moto X in September.

With the new Droid product line and their partnership with Google that resulted in another breakthrough product called Nexus 6 set to be launched soon, the company is slowly making its way to the top of the smartphone market that has been long dominated by Apple Inc. and Samsung.
