"Mortal Kombat X" gamers are extremely excited about the four new players coming to the game with the Kombat Pack 2 DLC. Fans started speculating on who those characters might be but one thing is for sure, the roster won't be seeing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

A rumor about the group of vigilantes coming to the fighting game has been around for a quite a while now but game creator Ed Boon has once and for all shot down the report with a clear-cut, one-word response: "No." This is after a fan asked him on Twitter if the characters will be in the game.

At first, the speculation about the crime-fighting warriors gracing the bloody "Mortal Kombat X" arena seemed likely and appealing with other characters from completely different franchises and universes added to the game such as Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th" and Predator from "Aliens vs. Predator."

However, it looks like Boon and developer NetherRealm have something else in mind. Of course, the former wouldn't give concrete info away, although in true Boon fashion, he leaves the guessing to fans by sharing only silhouettes of the Kombat Pack 2 DLC characters on the way.

According to Vine Report, rumor mills suspect that characters from other universes such as the Batman villain Joker, Elvira from the "Mistress of the Dark" comics, Fenix from "StarCraft" and the fedora-loving swashbuckler Indiana Jones could be part of the new "Mortal Kombat X" expansion.

There is word that the likes of "The Evil Dead" exorcist Ash Williams and notable "Watchmen" antihero Rorschach are also gracing the highly-anticipated, most talked about DLC. As for warriors from the "Mortal Kombat" realm, rumor mills wager on Cyrax, Noob Saibot and Smoke.

Unfortunately, there's still no way of knowing whether or not some of these characters will actually make it to the expansion pack. Even the release date of the Kombat Pack 2 DLC remains a big secret at the moment.
