MLB 2015 rumors: Who will the Rockies give up?

Talk about Willin Rosario being traded is up once more and this time it looks like the Colorado Rockies will be consummating that thought.

News about Rosario being on the traded block swirled as early as the offseason but now with the acquisition of catcher Nick Hundley, it looks like that trade will materialize sooner or later.

Known to be a tremendous power-hitter, Rosario is in his first year of arbitration and may be due for a raise soon. Only 25 and yet a tremendous power hitter for the Rockies, Rosario is seen as someone who could far better as a power hitter over at the American League.

But while the Rockies are fine with trading Rosario, it seems that it would depend on what is on the table. In short, they aren't giving up Rosario without a credible offer from other clubs.

The last team that showed interest on the power hitter was the Texas Rangers but to date, nothing has come out of their talks.

Rosario is under contract with the Rockies up to 2017 but with the acquisition of Hundley, the Rockies bullpen seems to be a bit crowded so some players may be up on the trading block soon.

The Rockies could of course opt to keep Rosario and put him in other positions such as right field and first base. However, those two positions are manned by Carlos Gonzales and Justin Morneau.

Apparently it may all boil down to money considerations or players whom they would owe more. Aside from Rosario, Gonzales is another player who is owed roughly $53 million over the next three seasons. The thing is Gonzales, 29, has never played more than 145 games in a season and only a total of 180 for the past two years.

So would it boil down between trading Gonzales or Rosario? That seems to be the case especially if you talk about salaries and efficiency which seems to be pointing in keeping Rosario and trading Gonzales.
