MLB 2015 news: All eyes on the Chicago White Sox

Now that March is here, it signals the start of spring training for 30 Major League Baseball ballclubs as they gear up for the coming 2015 MLB regular season.

With a tenuous 162 game schedule ahead for them, teams will be hard at work as they try to work with their existing players and new recruits with the hope of churning out a decent show once the season starts.

But before all that, there will be about 30 spring games to be played, potentially a yardstick to see on how well their respective teams would stack up in the 30-team field.

Though it may still be too early to tell, it remains that not all teams are expected to fare well in the coming season. There will be some who would prosper while others falter once the season starts. Hence with 30 teams to gander at, let us take a look at promising and questionable teams for the coming 2015 MLB season.

While a lot of teams were busy during the Winter break, one team that is expected to fare well is the Chicago White Sox. With the team ably filling in the gaping holes of their roster, the White Sox are expected to be one of the most improved teams this coming season.

Imagine names such as Jeff Samardzija, David Robertson, Melky Cabrera, Adam LaRoche and Zach Duke who were successfully signed up and you know that the White Sox are a team to watch once the season bats off. Chicago paid a hefty price to fulfill their wish list and now it is time to see on whether this investment does pay off.

From the most awaited we go down to the team that could disappoint.

The Baltimore Orioles are not exactly a team that boasts of big name players and losing Nelson Cruz and Nick Markakis to free agency could lead to a poorer showing this year. The Orioles won only 96 games last season and the Ws could take a dip this time around.

From the looks of it, the Orioles may be looking to their current roster for new heroes. That could be a role filled by a young Kevin Gausman or Ubaldo Jimenez. Should that turn out well, the Orioles could spring in some surprises so don't count them out completely just yet.
