Microsoft Edge news: To arrive on Android and iOS before year ends

Technology company giant, Microsoft, has announced that their very own internet browser, the Edge, will be arriving to hand held devices. Specifically, they will be made available to the Android and the iOS. Even though the Edge is already available for the Windows 10 phones, it is still looking to expand its reach to the more prevalent and numerous Android and iOS users.

According to Beta News, Microsoft stated that they have been heavily requested to provide the browser to more mobile platforms. By doing so, Microsoft will be making the Edge an alternative option for those who use multiple types of devices with varying brands. However, it also goes without saying that Microsoft will have to optimize the user experience of their browser, compared to its competitors that have been available from the beginning.

An example of a potential tough competitor for Microsoft is Google's own browser, Chrome – one that is available on almost all platforms and is already trusted by its users. However, The Verge has reported that users will be able to use Microsoft Edge to easily transition from browsing on their PC to their phones. This is especially useful for those who are always on the go at their jobs. Plus, users will be able to conveniently switch from PC or mobile device.

Those who are not particularly savvy would not have to worry about transitioning to the Microsoft Edge. It has been reported by Android Police that compared to the previous Microsoft browser, Internet Explorer, the Edge features a much better technical support as well as faster loading instances. Perhaps, it is safe to assume that this is Microsoft's way of reintroducing the browser to the world by showing off what it can do for mobile phones as well.

It is expected that Microsoft will be releasing the Edge browser for Android and iOS phones before the year ends.
