It's not only the new Lumia 435 and Lumia 532 that don that Denim makeover. Microsoft has started to dress up its Lumia devices with the Denim update. This is the latest firmware update for Windows 8.1, as the company tipped its plans for a wide-reaching launch just a few days ago, according to GSM Arena. The same site went on to say that Lumia 1320 users have already been prompted to install the new skin, one of which is in Portugal.
ZDNet noted that the Redmond-based tech company initially had plans to roll out the Denim before 2015. However, Microsoft opted to dispatch it to a limited number of devices in select markets and "will continue arriving in waves by device." Now, here is Microsoft keeping its promise.
Users of the Lumia 830, Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520 in Europe should also be enjoying the latest Microsoft update, while having it run on the Lumia 520 and Lumia 525 for those located in India should also work. As per ZDNet, the aforementioned handsets are joining the list of Denim-dressed carrier devices including Lumia 520, Lumia 535, Lumia 620, Lumia 625, Lumia 720 and Lumia 930.
Tons of Lumia smartphones will be dolled up soon and for those who are wondering if their phones will get the new pelt, media outlets expect the following to get the Denim look: Lumia 521, 526, 530, 530 Dual SIM, 535, 535 Dual SIM, 620, 625, 630, 630 Dual SIM, 635, 636, 638, 720, 720T, 730 Dual SIM, 735, 810, 820, 822,920T, 925, 925T, 928, 930, Icon and 1020. A way to check the availability of the update is by navigating through Setting > Phone update. Users can tap the "Check for updates" option to see if the update is ready for download.
Denim will also bring a more accessible Cortana, Microsoft's personal assistant. ZDNet said that owners of Lumia Icon, 930 and 1520 can set Cortana in motion while the devices are idle by uttering "Hey, Cortana." As of now, the virtual assistant is still a beta product in China and the U.K. while it is an alpha in Australia, Canada, France, Italy, Germany and Spain.
