Michael Schumacher latest news update: Daughter Gina posts Instagram message to 'Keep fighting'

Almost four years after Michael Schumacher almost died in a skiing accident, fans get a tiny peek into his condition after a social media post from his daughter.

It may not be the kind of information fans of the retired F1 legend are waiting for, but it was an appreciated one nonetheless.

In a recent Instagram post, the 20-year-old cowgirl urged her father to keep fighting. Probably taken in one of her strolls, Gina Schumacher posted a photo of a lake, as viewed from her saddle. It was captioned, "There is only one happiness in this live, to love and be loved ... #keepfighting."

The post garnered a lot of positive words from Schumi fans. "As a biggest fan and supporter of your dad in my town I am with you in your pain... Keep believing girl! We all will see him walking again," said one of the comments.

In December 2013, Schumacher sustained serious injuries after his head hit a rock while skiing at a resort in the French Alps. The injury was so severe that doctors had to put him into a medically induced coma for six months. He woke up in June 2014, yet the public remained in the dark about his real condition.

All people know is that he is getting state-of-the-art private care at his family home in Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Reports say this treatment costs the seven-time F1 champion some £115,000 a week.

Back in September, it was reported by Swedish and German publications that Schumacher was being flown to Texas to try a new form of therapy at a specialist brain clinic.

Apart from these updates, the Schumacher family has been generally mum about the condition of the 48-year-old F1 driver.

Last October, Schumi's former longtime manager, Will Weber, told a German publication he found it "unfortunate" that the F1 legend's fans do not know his real condition. "Why are they not being told the truth?" he asked the newspaper.
