Memphis Grizzlies trade rumors 2016: Will the Memphis Grizzlies trade Jeff Green soon?

Has Jeff Green worn out his welcome in Memphis Grizzlies? A recent turn of events seems to indicate such.

Green is someone who made big strides when he was still with the Boston Celtics, one of few key players who somehow didn't pan up and translate to a successful campaign. Green was traded last year to the Grizzlies, a move that could be for his and the involved teams' benefit.

The Celtics have, of course, improved by leaps and bounds. And that was capped with a surprise appearance in the playoffs. For the Grizzlies, however, the expectations have turned from good to bad.

Known for his explosiveness, there were high expectations. Has Memphis finally found the explosive player it needed to compliment Mike Conley, Marc Gasol, and Zach Randolph?

It seems that such has not happened and Green ended up being scrutinized. Now, he may be on his way out if the Grizzlies can pull some strings and find a suitable destination for the underachieving player.

All that may have been punctuated with the recent second half benching of Green against the Houston Rockets. The Grizzlies still lost as head coach David Joerger elected to revert to his normal starters which included Randolph and Vince Carter.

Green could have been inserted but little-known players like JaMychal Green and Elliot William were given the nod instead.

With that, many feel that a trade is forthcoming and Green may not mind it all. Many have shared their observation that Green could be more inclined to pack his bags and play somewhere else with Memphis not looming as a fit place for him and his expertise.

Green has some kinks in his balling skills and such is the one which many are singling out. But how many players have we seen having the same issue and yet flourish with the right guidance and ball club?

Green isn't really a bad player but the obvious is that he is far from perfect as a cager. He is set to become a free agent this summer, although it is not discounted if he ends up being dealt before Feb. 18, the National Basketball Association (NBA) trade deadline.
