Bioware has been busy with crafting "Dragon Age: Inquisition" in the past years. And now that the latest in the "Dragon Age" franchise has been wrapped up and well-received by many, fans know that it is, at last, the time for the developer's latest project — a refresh of the much-loved and highly-anticipated space quest franchise "Mass Effect."
"Mass Effect 4" is likely well underway. But the game is at an embryonic stage at the most, and the game developer is, in turn, keeping details at a minimum. But there are a handful of niceties that the online world and gaming outlets have found, enough to give gamers a clear idea of the major changes coming to the title.
Word on the street is that "Mass Effect 4" will be home to scores of new worlds and Makko will be majorly usable in the game, acting as the gamer's enduring companion in navigating through a larger, more open space territory. As per Master Herald, concept arts were released during the N7 event, most of which showed an uncharted and unfamiliar area in the cosmos where the new adventure will set off. However, the faces of the aliens are not to be given away just yet. In line with this, players can expect themselves to crash into all-new characters and species unheard of.
Another big change involves Captain Shepard. The mighty hero of the franchise will no longer go on with his journey in space. The game will instead be graced by a new protagonist after his downfall, as speculated by Movie Pilot. Rumor mills went full swing for this one. Movie Pilot tackled in their article the possibility of Shepard's descendant leading the latest expedition in more distant regions of outer space. However, it also opened up about Bioware's freedom to build, for the first time, a mankind-free title with extraterrestrials at the center of the tale. Expectations are high for Bioware to produce a fresh plotline for the upcoming game and at the same time entwine it with its predecessors. It will pull it off. That is if, and only if, the game developer decides to incorporate details from the past "Mass Effect" games to the newest one.
On the more technical side, Master Herald reported that DICE Frostbite 3 Engine may be used for the game. This is the same engine Bioware employed on "Dragon Age: Inquisition." This is the closest fans got to about "Mass Effect 4." The rollout date for the game remains unknown at this time, but a gamer from Metro UK is hoping that "Mass Effect 4" will put in an appearance in the upcoming The Game Awards.
