'Married at First Sight' season 3 renewed or cancelled? latest updates

There is still no news about a season 3 renewal for "Married at First Sight." According to reports, fans of the FYI series have reasons to give up waiting. With a rough second season and with all three couples ending up getting a divorce, the future of the show isn't promising. Master Herald says that the negative result from the experiment pretty much says it all.

In season 2, Sean Varricchio and Davina Kullar immediately called their marriage off. Ryan Ranellone and Jaclyn Methuen, and Ryan DeNiro and Jessica Castro gave themselves more time to get to know their partners and they gave their respective marriages a chance to grow even behind the camera.

However, six months later, the couples eventually split, with the relationship of the third couple taking a dark, nasty turn. As per Day Herald, not only did the two break up but Jessica also filed a restraining order against her ex-husband after he allegedly threatened to kill her and her family. Ryan D. claimed that these are all lies.

As all three couples chose to end their marriages, it demonstrates that the show's panel was unsuccessful in their experiment at pairing strangers based on what they think are the compatible personalities and workable differences.

Despite the lack of details about "Married at First Sight" season 3, FYI initially organized a casting call to find the new strangers to tie up in marriage. However, the page for this search now reads that the casting call is "no longer available." It remains to be seen if this is because there are already too many applicants or because there won't be a new season that would need them.

For now, FYI has another social experiment show called "Seven Year Switch," which pairs up real-life married couples, whose marriages started to become sour, with strangers.
