MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs: Apple 'very committed' to laptop

Apple MacBook Pro (2016) is rumored to be unveiled by October. Apple website

The 2016 version of the MacBook Pro is one of the highly anticipated devices from Apple. The laptop failed to materialize during the recent media event held by the company, but sources tell that an upgraded one will be released this year, probably within the next month.

A fan even tried emailing the company's CEO, Tim Cook, to directly ask a question about the Mac line. Surprisingly, according to the fan, Cook replied to the query, saying, "I love the Mac and we are very committed to it. Stay tuned. Tim," reported by Mac Rumors.

The publication then stated that it cannot confirm the authenticity of the email, but information shows that it came from one of the corporate servers of the company. It is also possible that Cook did not personally reply to the email, but someone from the executive relations team.

However, an upgraded model will definitely arrive for these kinds of devices, but the real question is when will it happen. The latest rumors also suggest that the latest laptop model will be released in October, and it is speculated to arrive with several new things on it.

Many reports have claimed that Apple will be replacing the physical function key on their MacBook Pro 216. It will be replaced with an OLED-based touch bar. The display panel's functionality will change according to the applications that are active.

The upcoming model is also speculated to be featuring a Touch ID sensor that will offer a quick login by using fingerprint and a USB Type-C port. The processor is expected to be a Skylake chip, the screen display will be at 2304 x 1440 pixel resolution, and it is said that it will have Apple Pencil compatibility. It is also said to be lighter and thinner than its predecessor, and will not be sporting the 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is started out with the recently unveiled iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Regarding its price, the upcoming MacBook Pro model is speculated to be around $1,100 to $1,200 for the 13-inch models and could go as high as $2,100 for the 15-inch models.
