"Longmire" has beaten the odds and now, it is gearing up for another season already. Thanks to the undying love and support of its fans, Netflix picked up the series with an order for a fourth season.
However, from the time Netflix picked up the TV series, there's been very little news about what the new season will bring. Still, based on the latest tweets from writer Tony Tost and actor Lou Diamond Phillips, one can say that they are getting ready for filming.
Tost, head writer for "Longmire," has kept things hush-hush for a while now, but last March 4, he finally gave a clue.
In a tweet, he said, "#Longmire production for S4 kicks in late March. We're deep into the writing. It's already my favorite season. So much history now in play."
This means that everything is on schedule and one can surmise that the story will involve a past storyline. What could that be? Speculations point to Walter Longmire's continuous investigation about the murder of his wife, although his daughter Cady, along with others, was made to believe otherwise. All this time, she thought her mother died of cancer.
Walter knows the truth and will likely share his past with Cady when she comes forward with some information. And since Tost said that "so much history now in play," fans believe that Walter's investigative storyline will continue on.
Meanwhile, series regular Philipps reaffirmed the filming date for season 4, telling a Twitter follower, "We start filming Longmire S4 in two weeks."
"Longmire" will be shifting gears this season due to Netflix's unusual arrangement when it comes to releasing episodes. The network releases an entire season during the air date, hence, the cast and crew will be hard at work to produce all the episodes for delivery on the same date.
The rumored premiere date for "Longmire" season 4 is in the summer of 2015. Phillips will reprise his role as Henry and Robert Taylor will return as Walter Longmire.
