LG V30 release date, specs, rumors: LG to replace the ticker with a better feature for the upcoming phone?

It looks like the LG V30 will be a complete departure from the first two handsets of its kind, if the latest reports about the device are anything to go by.

Reliable tech insider Evan Blass said that he already has early renders of the LG V30, which is amazing seeing that the LG V20 was released last month.

From the looks of it, LG is moving quickly in working on its next flagship already. Getting back to the renders, Blass said that one notable feature was missing — the ticker. The first two LG V-series devices featured the ticker, a 2.1-inch secondary display where users can check push notifications, the time, and the weather at a glance and not having to use the primary screen. This effectively saves the battery life of the LGV10 or the LG V20. However, LG is looking to ditch it in the LG V30 but for something that appears to be much better than the ticker. Blass bid the ticker "adieu" and clarified that while it is a goner in LG V30, the company has something else in store for the flagship.

"The ticker is a secondary display. But not all secondary displays would be characterized as tickers," Blass tweeted out when reports came in that the secondary display was being ditched.

He did not go into detail as to what LG V30 will have in place of the infamous ticker. It is also unclear if he will release the renders to the public in the future.

It might be too early to talk about the next-generation LG device anyway as the mobile world just witnessed the unveiling of the LG V20.

In fact, it is still the subject of many mobile reviews. It remains to be seen what it means for the LG V30's release timing with the existence of early renders of it.
