LG Nexus 5X owners that experiencing a boot loop issue with their smartphones are entitled to a full refund. These are for units purchased in the United States.

Several owners who have sent their devices in for repair regarding the issue have received an email from LG USA that the part needed to fix the problem is currently out of stock. The company is now offering a full refund for the cost of the smartphone, which is $440.

One user posted on Reddit the email he had received from the company, that says: "We're sorry to hear that you've experienced a problem with your LGH790 and appreciate you giving us the opportunity to provide a warranty repair. We have received your device at our repair facility, but currently a part to complete the repair is out of stock and is no longer available."

It then added: "To rectify this issue, we would like to offer you a refund for the full amount of your device. That amount will be determined by your sales receipt. Your refund can take approximately 4 weeks to receive due to the holiday."

The verification process is essential for the refund, so the proper paperwork is needed, along with the original receipt. However, it is something of a gray area since there will be a number of these phones that were received as gifts, and they do not have any proof of purchase.

It also seems that it is not the case on every unit as one user shared on the same thread. Units purchased directly from Google are getting a new smartphone replacement of the same unit. They then have to send the old unit back. So it seems, the company has still unsold stocks of the LG Nexus 5X.

The LG Nexus 5X is a 5.2-inch smartphone that is powered by the Snapdragon 808. It was announced last year around September and was released about a month after.

LG USA has not yet released an official announcement regarding the matter.
