LG G4 release date, rumor roundup: New leaks reveal 16-mp camera and Snapdragon 810

The LG G3 has enjoyed praises and good reviews for its optimum package. So how will LG make an upgrade for its already powerful device?

The LG G4 looks superior with its stellar specs, at least as far as rumors are concerned.  According to GSM Arena, screenshots that came all the way from Greece are suggesting that the upcoming handset will pack a 16-megapixel rear-facing shooter. That is 5312 x 2988 pixels in resolution and a sensor of 16:9. This tops the one in LG G3, which is only at 13 megapixels.

The same screenshot leaks also give a glimpse of what's under the G4's hood. Apparently, the device will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. There are some issues regarding this selection though, as reports are claiming that the Snapdragon component has overheating issues. Should LG continue with its plan to chip it in, media outlets have no way to know for now. What's almost sure is that the RAM would no less be 3 GB and that the device will be packaged with Android 5.0 Lollipop installed and ready. GSM Arena broached that it is possible that LG will opt for 4 GB, as the processor of preference has 64-bit support.

The next-generation LG flagship is also said to come with a 5.3-inch Quad HD (2K) display, a bit smaller compared to LG G3's 5.5-inch screen. Stuff TV iterates that this will easily make the LG G4's display, with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, look crisp and sharp.

It is expected that LG will use the Mobile World Congress in Spain as the venue to unveil the spanking new smartphone. This would mean that there is less than two months away before the LG G4 will put in an appearance.
