The premium-specced LG G3 was met with positive reviews upon its release, which easily made it a frontrunner in the field. The competition, however, is getting tighter.  Nonetheless, LG has some tricks up its sleeves to oust its rival tech firms. Word on the street is that the purported heavyweight handset, the LG G4, will come with a stylus.

The report came from a Chinese outlet, which claims that the LG G4 will have its very own "G Pen" and it is already patented. Media outlets believe that it is LG's rejoinder to the well-received Samsung Galaxy Note 4's accessory known as the "S Pen." Interestingly, the LG G4 is said to incorporate something called "G Scrawl." Not much detail has been collected other than its alleged function. MobileBurn explains that it is a type of software designed to control the smartphone's screen.

If the rumors prove accurate, it will be interesting to see how the G4 will compete against other stylus-laden handsets. The accessory will complement its specs for sure. The handset will be smaller than its predecessor at 5.3 inches. The display is of Quad HD. Reports say that LG is ditching its bezels to achieve a much more streamlined look for the LG G4. Latino Post added that the coating will either be sapphire glass or Corning Glass 3.

A powerful 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor will purportedly be stuffed inside it, along with a big 3500 mAh battery, 32 GB storage capacity and a solid 4 GB RAM. A significant jump in the camera is expected, with the LG G4 packing in a monstrous 20.7-megapixel rear-facing shooter. The LG G3 only had a 13-megapixel rear camera and one in the front with 2 megapixels.

It is unknown if the G4 will get 64 GB internal storage but Android Pit estimates a $600 price tag for the standard variant. The tech world is still in the dark about the release date, but REM surmises that the LG G4 will debut in May.
