LG G3, LG G2 Android 5.0 Lollipop: T-Mobile updates LG G3, Verizon and Vodafone to LG G2

The Android Lollipop update for LG G2 and LG G3 is in motion. Just recently, owners of the 2014 flagship under T-Mobile were able to download Android 5.0 Lollipop on their handsets.

The great thing about this update is that there is no need for users to wait for a notification that prompts installation or for an over the air (OTA) rollout. The software is ready for download from the LG Mobile Support Tool on PC.

Simply connect the LG G3 on a PC or a Mac with the LG Mobile Support Tool. Dress up the handset with the sweet firmware, which goes by the version D85120b and build version LRX21Y.

On the other hand, users who got their LG G2 from T-Mobile will have to wait. The update is currently in testing "to make sure you get the best quality software possible." Check back here to know what stages specific handsets are in when it comes to Android Lollipop.

There is good news for Verizon subscribers who rock the 2013 flagship. The update for LG G2 in Verizon should be available. The carrier released a six-page document announcing the Android 5.0 Lollipop and explains all the changes and features that will be added once the software is on board.

Unfortunately, there is still no news as to when the carrier will rollout Android Lollipop for the LG G3. With its predecessor getting it at the moment, reports say that it won't be long before Verizon extends the update to the LG G3.

Apparently, the update is not only exclusive to carriers in the United States. Vodafone subscribers in Europe have started to download Lollipop for the LG G2 as well. This time though, they will be getting Lollipop version 5.0.2, which brings in fixes for bugs that came along its predecessors.

For LG G2 owners in Europe, check the update by navigating through the settings of the phone (Settings >General> About phone> Software update> Check now).
