LG G Pad 2 specs: What's the difference between the 8.0 and 10.1 variants?

Recently, South Korean giant LG Electronics unveiled its new tablet devices, the LG G Pad 2 8.0 and the LG G Pad 2 10.1. Earlier this month, it was revealed that the LG G Pad 2 8.0 tablet is expected to be available only in South Korea, while the larger LG G Pad 2 10.1 is scheduled to be launched in international markets.

According to LG News Room, the LG G Pad 2 10.1 will make its way to markets in Asia, Europe, and North America. In terms of the specifications, here are the differences between the two new LG tablets.

The LG G Pad 2 8.0 sports an 8-inch IPS LCD display screen with a 800 x 1280 pixel resolution. This tablet comes with a stylus pen and runs on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop version operating system (OS), according to GSM Arena.

The LG G Pad 2 8.0 has a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel camera on the front. Under the hood, there's a Qualcomm MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 processor along with only 1.5 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory storage.

On the other hand, the LG G Pad 2 10.1 sports a larger 10.1-inch display screen with a higher (WUXGA) 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. In terms of the design, this tablet comes in a thin body design and metallic finish.

The 10.1 variant also has a 5-mega pixel rear-facing camera and a 2-mega pixel front-facing camera as well. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2 GB RAM and an expandable 16 GB built-in memory storage, according to recent reports.

The LG G Pad 2 8.0 tablet is powered by a 4,200 mAh battery, while the LG G Pad 2 10.1 is anticipated to have a massive 7,400 mAh battery.

According to Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile, "The LG G Pad 2 10.1 was developed in response to consumers' feedback and optimized for multimedia consumption."

More details are expected to come out next month during the IFA 2015 event which will take place in Berlin, Germany.
