LG G Flex 2 vs Nexus 6 comparison: Specs, design and more

LG has certainly made a heavyweight in the recently announced the LG G Flex 2. Its curvy body packs in the hottest Qualcomm processor there is, and all that power comes with inevitable good looks. Google, meanwhile, made a huge jump to build the Nexus 6 — literally, a huge one as this device is a behemoth. These two devices are quite great buys in their own right but what edge does each have over the other?

The Nexus 6 carries a humongous 5.96-inch AMOLED display, which generates a 1440 x 2560 screen resolution and a 493 ppi pixel density. LG made a huge upgrade in LG G Flex 2 with 1080 x 1920 pixels in its 5.5-inch P-OLED screen curved at 700 mm. Its back is curled at 650 mm. Noteworthy here is its special self-healing coating, which eliminates scratches or dents in merely 10 seconds at room temperature. That's for sure a major step up for LG, GSM Arena said. The Nexus 6, on the other hand, has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for screen protection. LG, however, modified the same coating material for the Flex 2 to be 20 percent more hard-wearing.

The superior phone in the platform department would be the Flex 2. The LG handset can easily outperform the Nexus 6 with its octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor. It is the first one to ever house the latest and the most powerful one in the Snapdragon array. Its 16 GB and 32 GB storage options would do. Plus, a microSD slot comes in handy. The worries, though, come from its 2 GB RAM.

In a review by GSM Arena, the popular tech site called the Flex 2 "the most powerful smartphone to date." The Nexus 6 puts up a fight of course. Under its hood is a 2.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor saddled with 32 GB and 64 GB memory size options and a hefty 3 GB RAM to go along with it. Users who want more than its storage capacity have no card slot to turn to, unfortunately.

The camera units of both handsets are identical — 13-megapixel rear-facing shooters that allow autofocus, optical image stabilization and a dual-LED flash. The front snappers of the LG G Flex 2 and the Nexus 6 are almost the same — 2.1 megapixels and 2 megapixels, respectively. The former is loaded with a 3000 mAh battery. It should relatively last as the latter's 3220 mAh battery, which is advertised to last a day.
