Many fans believe that there is no better time for Valve Corporation to release "Left 4 Dead 3" than now, with new technology that will make for an amazing horror experience, but fans may have to wait for a while.
Fans of the franchise are counting on a release almost three months after a Valve employee appear to have inadvertently let the cat out of the bag.
The employee — Tristan Reidford — was doing a tutorial on source engine assets into the Destinations platform when fans peeped a folder with the name "left4dead3."
Screenshots of it flooded the web, and Valve did its best for the image not to make the rounds anymore. This had many people thinking that "Left 4 Dead 3" is on the way.
It is hard to think otherwise since early this year, references to the game were found in the Vive benchmark tool that was released by the studio.
Valve has been mum about all the "Left 4 Dead 3" talks, but the leaks are enough to send the community into overdrive.
According to some media outlets, Valve is working on the game and that these references and leaks are its way to building the hype around the game.
It has been seven years since "Left 4 Dead 2" was released. A lot of innovation and technological developments have popped up since then.
The nature of a game like "Left 4 Dead 3" is expected to gain a lot from the power of current-generation and even next-gen consoles such as the Xbox Project Scorpio and the PlayStation 4 Neo.
Virtual Reality (VR) will also be of immense use for the franchise. However, with Valve yet to make it official, "Left 4 Dead 3" is as mythical as "Half-Life 3," another game from the company that fans hope will see the light of day in the future.
Despite this, however, there are still reports that a 2017 or a 2018 launch is not all too far-fetched.
