'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date, game updates: 'Big Hero 6' campaigned for game

Sora in Kingdom Hearts 3 Square Enix

Details about "Kingdom Hearts 3" are very elusive, to say the least. It is still a mystery which of Disney's multitude of universes will be fused in the ever-growing world of Sora. However, many fans have their own idea on which of those would be the most exciting to see in the newest iteration of the epic game franchise.

The likes of "Toy Story" and "The Jungle Book" are frequently mentioned. "Darkwing Duck" and even "Wall-E" are included in the fans' wish list. The newest addition to the ever-growing array of worlds touted to join the game is that of Hiro and Baymax.

Movie Pilot suggests that "Big Hero 6" will be a foil for the upcoming action role-playing game because of its setting. Hiro and the gang defend the highly-advanced town of San Fransokyo, which is a fusion of San Francisco and Tokyo, from baddies. While its Japanese touch is already a big plus, the imagined chemistry between Sora and Hiro is simply without comparison. Seeing them working together, or at least exploring each other's worlds, will feel right and, needless to say, electrifying.

Square Enix has the insane task of picking from the horde of worlds under Disney's umbrella. The inclusion of Elsa, Darth Vader and Iron Man has resonated quite loudly, but the game studio says that it's not easy throwing in characters in the game. Getting Disney's nod is not easy either.

For now, fans will have to wait for the D23 Expo in Japan set to happen in November this year.

"We have some interesting things planned. There will be Kingdom Hearts 3 news, and various things, I think. Development on Kingdom Hearts 3 is going smoothly, but there will also be new announcements connected to it," video game designer Tetsuya Nomura told IGN.

He then went on to say, "As one of those new announcements, I think we should be able to announce a smartphone-specific development for the series in short order."
