Kate Middleton made her first post-baby appearance on the red carpet in London yesterday as she and Prince husband attended a gala dinner for the Tusk foundation.

Just 7 weeks after giving birth, the Duchess of Cambridge looked dazzling in a floor-length sequined dress by Jenny Packham, reportedly worth around £2,500. She paired her gown with a classic pair of Jimmy Choos sandals worth £475. She paired her look with diamond drop earrings and a diamond bangle.

Prince William, who is a patron of the Tusk charity, wore a black suit paired with a bow tie.

He delivered a speech at the end of the awards ceremony hosted by journalist Kate Silverton.

Prince William said, "As you might have gathered, Catherine and I have recently become proud parents – of a baby who has a voice to match any lion's roar! This is actually our first evening out without him, so please excuse us if you see us nervously casting surreptitious glances at our mobile phones to check all is well back home." Prince William recently completed his duties as a search and rescue helicopter pilot with the RAF. The royal couple has been living with Kate Middleton's parents after the birth of Prince George and will move back into Kensington Palace soon.

However, the palace announced that the Duke will not be taking on more or less of public royal duties.

Meanwhile, the couple has hired royal nanny Jessie Webb to help take care of baby George. Webb, 71, had helped Princess Diana raise Princes William and Harry in the early 1990s.

Webb was the guest of honor at Prince William's 21st birthday party and his wedding to Kate Middleton. Although she is retired, she will be helping with Prince George part-time. She was reportedly on duty last night when the royal couple made attended the awards ceremony.
