Jeremy Lin's shooting coach takes swipe at Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony

For people who have followed Jeremy Lin ever since his breakout year in New York, many may have taken notice of the tremendous dip in his shooting clip.

Injuries are, of course, one cause; but it seems that his shooting coach Doc Scheppler attributes it, as posted on Hoops Habit, to something else, something that many may have in mind but never took seriously.

When he was still with the New York Knicks, Lin had to co-exist with Carmelo Anthony. Then coach Mike Woodson wanted the ball mostly in the hands of Anthony, being obviously the star player for the club. In all, Lin would have limited shots. So if that would be the case, it wouldn't be surprising to see the coach or maybe Anthony getting angry at Lin for taking shots instead of him. Does it make sense?

The same case holds true during his stint with the Los Angeles Lakers. Everyone knows that Kobe Bryant will get most of the touches so Lin wasn't able to get his offensive machine going.

"The Lakers were such a dysfunctional team, so poorly coached," Scheppler said. "Kobe was out there trying to prove himself every day, while minimizing every player around him because he didn't think they were good. That was so sad," he added.

Could the case be different now with the Charlotte Hornets? Scheppler bares that the decision to go there is because Lin feels that he will be maximized and valued by head coach Steve Clifford.

"We're very excited about this year," Scheppler said. "He's in a much better position with a great coach. One reason he signed with Charlotte is because of the coach, Steve Clifford. It came down to Jeremy's sit down for two hours with Clifford," he appended.

Of course in Charlotte, he will have to find a way to co-exist with Kemba Walker. Walker has been known to want the ball in his hands so would it be a different case compared to Bryant and Anthony?
