Jeremy Lin to undergo season-long rehab in Canada after knee surgery

Brooklyn Nets point guard Jeremy Lin is currently rehabilitating his body after undergoing a successful knee surgery in October. His road to recovery has now led him across the border in order to undergo a comprehensive, season-long rehabilitation program in Canada.

In an Instagram video posted by the National Basketball Association player last week, he shared that he is currently at the Fortius Sport & Health institute in Burnaby, British Columbia outside of Vancouver. Lin shared that he will be undergoing a complete rehabilitation in which he will rebuild not just his injured knee, but his entire body.

"The Nets and I have decided on a really comprehensive rehab program that will have me out here for most of the season," said Lin. "The goal is to rebuild my body from the ground up, each and every muscle and joint, not just the patellar tendon."

The news was also confirmed by Nets coach Kenny Atkinson, who said that the decision to have Lin rehab in Vancouver was made mutually between the player and the Nets organization.

Both the Nets general manager Sean Marks and Lin have ties to Fortius, which is an integrated development center for athletes. Former NBA MVP and B.C. native Steve Nash helped develop some of the facility's training programs.

The start of the 2017–2018 NBA season has not been kind to Lin, who suffered a knee injury during the team's opening game against the Indiana Pacers back in October. The 29-year-old guard went up for a layup during the fourth quarter and landed awkwardly. Soon after, he was reaching for his right knee while crying in pain.

Findings have shown that Lin sustained a broken patellar tendon. He underwent knee surgery and is now working on rehabilitating the injured knee and the rest of his body.
