Rumors about Apple's next iPhone offering are at full blast and that is just three months after its flagship was introduced. Now, rumors about a patent suspected to grace the so-called iPhone 7 has reached the internet. IB Times reports that Apple plans to integrate an upgraded TouchID sensor to the upcoming handset.

The patent was credited to AuthenTec Co-founder Dale R. Setlak. This was the company who first developed the TouchID technology for Apple. The patent called "Electronic Device Switchable to a User-Interface Unlocked Mode Based Upon a Pattern of Input Motions and Related Methods" with the application number (13/918221) revealed that the Cupertino-based company is set to include finger gestures interpretation capabilities. This entails unlocking the handset via patterns, swipes or twists. There will be a virtual combination lock that will recognize the pattern of input motions for unlocking.

Another feature fans look forward to about the next iPhone is the sapphire glass, which will ultimately make the display of the phones completely scratch-resistant that it can resist those of knives or keys. Focus Taiwan, as cited by Expert Reviews, reported that manufacturer Foxconn is in full swing in building a new display factory with the sole purpose of delivering to Apple's iPhone orders. However, Expert Reviews expressed doubt on the claim as Corning (Gorilla Glass maker) is becoming Apple's main resource for the screens of every iPhone offering out.

There is also buzz about two new iPhones set to be launched by Apple. Just like the iPhone 5, the iPhone 6 is said to get a variant called iPhone 6C. This model will be a lot cheaper, with less powerful features than its original and it is rumored to be released by March next year. And following the usual release pattern, the iPhone 7 will put in an appearance by September. Should it come with a big screen or a smaller one as rumors suggest, Apple has yet to put rumors to rest.
