Apple's iPhone 6 release date is happening next week and the new flagship smartphone will be launched alongside the iWatch.
Usually, Apple sends out invitations to their launching events a week before the exact day of the event. However, the invite for this year's event came earlier than many waiting fans expected. Previous reports stated that if Apple followed its usual schedule, the distribution of the invites would have fallen on Labor Day. Moreover, Apple released the invites right after its rivals Samsung and LG announced their own smartwatches. The Cupertino-based company probably feel pressured to make ripples so as not to be overshadowed by news about other devices.
The upcoming unveiling event will also be held in a new venue – De Anza College campus. In previous years, Apple usually held its iPhone events in Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco or on Apple's campus in Cupertino.
The new venue has some history to it. The Flint Center is where Steve Jobs unveiled the first Mac computer in 1984. He also introduced the iMacs in 1998 and 1999 at the said center. According to MacRumors, Apple is putting up its own structure in the college campus because of its importance to the company's history.
On the day of the said event, Apple will most likely hold a live streaming of the launch via its website. Just like the WWDC event last June, the live streaming will require users to use Safari 4 or later on OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later; or QuickTime 7 on Windows. If you plan to view it through Apple TV, you should own at least the second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.
