iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus: 24K Gold-plated handsets to hit the market

Just when everyone thought that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus could not get any classier, China-based tech company NavJack made a few fabulous alterations to make the Apple flagship smartphones look like the most urbane devices in the turf.

The aforementioned firm is putting up a limited supply of gaudy iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets with 24K gold plating. GSM Arena also broached that the makeover did more at the back, as a carbon fiber-like covering has been encrusted for "added sense of exclusivity." To match its refined looks to its durability, NavJack made sure to add another coat of Corning Glass 3 to make it more scratch-resistant.

Buyers of the elegant devices will get theirs with a premium box, a packaging bearing no resemblance to that of Apple's customary wrapping. But it is important to note that although the outer surface of the tech firm's offerings was transformed, the specs of the smartphones were left untouched. NavJack has not tweaked anything in the interior and it stuck with the same insides and the same size — 4.7 inches for the iPhone and 5.5 inches for its big brother.

The handsets, which were first introduced in September, came with Apple's signature aluminum shell with only three but subtly chic color variants namely white, black and silver. The devices were a success, with sales and demands so enormous that Apple had not managed to catch its breath.

Unfortunately, price range for the gold plated smartphones is yet to be divulged. What is sure though is that the price tag will likely burn a huge hole in the pocket. But as GSM Arena pointed out, many may find the need to have their iPhones stand out in a world where people choose the work of the titanic Cupertino-based company as their tech companion. The existence of the gold plated ones will get the job done for sure.
