iPad mini 4 release date: New tablet to come out by April?

iPad Mini 3 Apple

Rumor mills are running wild with the iPad mini 4 at the focus. Media outlets have started reporting that the iPad mini 3, although released just about five months ago, is already getting a follow up by April or June this year.

Apple's alleged poor tablet sales may have prompted the need for a more thorough rework for its successor even this early. The latest iPad iteration apparently did not take off upon its release and both The Verge and The Inquisitr believe it is due to Apple's little effort in giving the tablet enough upgrade or boost from its predecessor.

According to Customs Today, the iPad Mini 4 will ship with the A8X processor, the same unit found in the iPad Air 2. It will also reportedly adopt the look the newest iPad Air offering possesses. These, unfortunately, are the only information rumor mills picked up about the so-called iPad mini 4. One more significant detail, though, indicates that the new iPad mini will come out alongside another of the Cupertino-based tech firm's future offerings, the iPad Pro (or iPad Air Plus), Apple's purported 12-inch tablet.

Reports claim that the unconfirmed giant iPad will be getting a stylus, making it more fitting to endorse to digital artists and designers who take on desk work, Gizmodo said. Apart from these "creatives," the site could not think of any other individuals who will opt for the oversized tablet, which led it to conclude that an iPad mini will be the device that will work for others who want a capable tablet on the go. This makes the iPad mini 4's release more vital and its launch with the iPad Pro more sound.

Meanwhile, Japanese magazine Mac Fan has also been cited by several websites including Customs Today, claiming that the original iPad and the newest iPad mini 3 will be "discontinued." The reason as to how Apple will be led to make such a move, however, was not provided.
