With October fast approaching, a lot falls on the shoulders of the next batch of devices that Apple plans to unveil. Although it has yet to be confirmed, the gadgets that Apple buyers can look forward to are likely to be the iPad Mini 4 and the new iPad Air (3?).
Apple apparently has a lot of catching up to do, especially since their previous releases iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2 didn't do so well in the market. Some sources believe that Apple may be compelled to offer the next batch of devices at lower prices in order to win back their lost customer base and loyalists.
Of the two devices, a lot seem to fall on how the market will respond to the new iPad Mini 4. Aside from lowered prices, the latest tablet is reportedly lighter and thinner. In fact, industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI securities believes that the iPad Mini 4 is in essence a miniature version of the iPad Air 2.
Among the rumored featured specifications of the iPad Mini 4 include a 7.9-inch display and a new speaker grill. It will likely be powered by an A8X processor, the same one used by the previous iPad Air 2.
However, there is another report claiming that iPad Mini 4 will run on an A9 processor, the same one used by iPhone 6. Regardless of which processor it does come out with, such will be supported by 2GB of RAM.
Before, an iPad Mini was available in 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants. But this time, it seems that Apple will be offering 32GB storage by default, a wise move considering that most device owners right now require large storage space for bigger apps and files stored in their gadgets.
Among the new features that could likely be integrated into the iPad Mini 4 is the Force Touch technology. The said feature is apparently present in most Apple products today (MacBook and Apple Watch) so it does make sense to include it in the upcoming tablet.
It remains to be confirmed whether all or some of the rumored specifications will be included in the upcoming devices, although the pricing is really something to watch out for. There is no official word yet on how reasonable the prices will be, although many believe that the prices will be attractive enough since Apple is trying to jack up sales in light of its poor sales performance from last year's releases.
