iOS 9 Beta release date: Apple launches Beta update but warns of potential bugs

 Apple

Whenever "beta" is attached to any software, it is a fact that the one you are about to get carries untested and may have issues that could radiate and cause problems. While getting hold of it does have its share of bragging rights, just be sure you know what to do just in case something goes haywire.

With Apple iOS 9 Beta now available for practically anyone, do remember that risks come with it as well. Apple themselves have warn Apple owners that the operating system (OS) may still have bugs and errors. Hence for the ones who are hard-headed and are aching to see what iOS 9.0 will have to offer, it would be best to use it on an old device and not on your primary one.

All that aside, what is there to look forward to with the Apple iOS 9 Beta?

Though the new OS seems fairly similar to iOS 8, it does offer an expected new feel and look. It will offer a new (and big) font change and that Siri does not render the familiar 'ding' sound when activated.

Siri will come with a Proactive assistance, taking the place of the spotlight search for users who look for the most relevant stuff they need. The new Proactive assistance feature will also automatically add invites and remind folks of key events in their calendar without having to do anything, like tapping, to do so.

New apps like Flipboard will also be onboard, meaning folks who yearn for content will find this handy. However the News app does not cover all countries for now.

A new transit directions feature in Apple Map should come in handy for people who are on the go, particularly the ones who take public transport such as buses or trains.

Another offering should come in handy for the ones who have an iPad and an iPhone. This is the Slide Over on iPad, something that allows users to work with two apps at the same time.

This and a whole lot more are available with the Apple iOS 9 Beta. Again, if you are planning to try it out, do apply it on a secondary device and not your regular one to avoid any issues since it is still in the beta stages and not bug-free.
