iOS 10 jailbreak release date, news: pressure on Pangu as solo developer shows off iOS 10.1 jailbreak software

Chinese jailbreak development team Pangu has yet to release the long-awaited iOS 10 jailbreak, but a new developer on the block shows that it is still possible to jailbreak the software.

An individual, with the Twitter handle ijapija00, has released a couple of videos jailbreaking the iOS 10.1 and the first beta version of the iOS 10.2.

However, ijapija00 is not looking to release the iOS 10.1 jailbreak he came up with to the public because, for one, he does not want to be responsible for other people's devices should things go wrong.

After all, the iOS.1 jailbreak he created "is stable sometimes and sometimes not." He said in the video description that it primarily helps in testing tweaks or "for private use and is NOT ready to be released at all."

Finally, ijapija00 also stated that he patched the Cydia Substrate in his iOS 10.1 jailbreak by replacing a library that loads the tweaks into the system.

"If we would have an un-patched Substrate for 10.x then I maybe would consider twice about this. But as long as it's patched and I don't own it, there'll be not releases!" he explained.

As for the iOS 10.2 jailbreak for the first beta version of the update, ijapija00 said that he won't roll that out to the public primarily because of zero-day and that he does not want to be responsible for the iPads or iPhones should they be messed up due to the software.

Although the developer will not release his iOS 10.1 jailbreak software, this shows jailbreaking can still be done on the iOS 10 despite Apple's efforts to combat the practice.

Pangu remains silent about its iOS 10 jailbreak, and with Apple moving fast (it just released the iOS 10.2 beta 2), it won't be long before the Cupertino giant stops signing the iOS 10.1.

By then, the iOS 10 jailbreak that will come out (assuming it would be out) will not benefit everybody.
