'Indiana Jones 5' movie sequel updates: Steven Spielberg to direct reboot?

Steven Spielberg, the brilliant man who helmed four legendary onscreen adventures of the fedora hat-donning buccaneer Indiana Jones, has reportedly expressed his interest to do one more. And if there is another Indy to hit the silver screen, the Oscar-winning director thinks it might as well be "Jurassic World" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt.

Rumor mills have always chomped bits about "Indiana Jones 5" and how perfect Pratt is as the new face of the whip-slashing archaeologist first popularized by Harrison Ford back in 1981. Deadline recently reported that Spielberg may hold the fort for the rebirth of the franchise if a script for the film suits his penchant. However, the media outlet went on to cite the response from the director's camp, who said that it may be too early to determine who will take the director's seat as Disney barely started on "Indiana Jones 5." But it seems that there's no one more suited to helm the movie than one originally behind the wheel.

Meanwhile, previous reports insisted that no one else but Pratt will be suited to throw on Indy's iconic hat and wield his whip. His acting chops as Star-Lord in the action-comedy Marvel Comics film adaptation "Guardians of the Galaxy" last year made heads turn. "Jurassic World," a reboot of another classic, is also one of the most awaited films this year. Pratt plays the lead character Owen Grady, an on-site staff member at Jurassic World who carries out behavioral research on the park's Velociraptors.

But if the team up between Pratt and Spielberg emerges soon, fingers crossed that the adventurer's story will not be retold but rather continued. This is a suggestion coming from Fansided, which believes that carrying on Indy's jaunts will provide new milieu to explore. But whatever escapades Disney will send Indiana Jones to remains to be seen. For now, it is great to know that the epic "Indiana Jones" franchise is returning to the big screen.
