The Taiwanese consumer electronics company, HTC, is gearing to release the improved version of their flagship phones, the U11, and is targeting for a release date before the year ends. The upcoming phone will see a wide array of improvements over its predecessors.

According to The Leaker, HTC will be postponing its original plan of a November release, and will be moving it to December instead. However, it could possibly be worth the wait since the U11 will be receiving an upgrade in terms of its overall specifications and battery capacity. In addition to that, the U11 is reported to feature a bezel-less display, which is something that the leading mobile device brands have been doing in recent months.

In a report by Digitimes, The HTC U11 Plus will have a slightly larger screen compared to its competitors, at 5.99 inches which is complete with a Quad High-Definition powered display and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Like other top of the line Android phones in the market today, it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. What the U11 is lacking compared to its contemporaries is its camera features.

While some have gotten a bit higher already, the U11 will have a 12 megapixel rear camera instead of the dual rear camera setup that can be found in other hand held devices. The front camera is standard at 8 megapixels. According to Devs Lab, the random access memory could either be a 4 GB, or a 6 GB. However, storage options are going to be receiving a major upgrade ranging from 128 GB that can be expanded with a micro SD card for up to 2 TB.

BGR reports that while the specs of the U11 make it a direct competitor against Samsung and Apple, it might still get muddled in the end. This largely due to the fact that both Apple and Samsung are already gearing up for their new phones, making the HTC U11 a little bit late in the smart phone game. Whatever happens, it still gives informed and well researched potential customers more potential in the competitive mobile device market.
