Houston Rockets: Dwight Howard could have been a Brooklyn Net

As you may have heard by now, Dwight Howard of the Houston Rockets and Kevin Garnett got into an altercation when the two teams faced off. Prior to the match, Howard did mention that he would have wanted to be a player for the Brooklyn Nets but apparently all that is a thing of the past.

The trip down memory lane prior to the ugly incident came during a light moment before the Nets-Rockets tussle. When Howard was still with the Magic, the Nets were among the suitors who were interested in signing up the 6-foot-11 all-star center.

And as you all know, he eventually chose to sign with the Lakers but thereafter joined the Houston Rockets to which he has no complaints at all.

"..everything happens for a reason. I was looking forward to one day being in Brooklyn at the time, but I found a great home in Houston, our team is playing exceptionally well, and we have a great opportunity to do something special" says Howard during an interview at the Barclays Center.

If Howard had signed with the Nets, he would have been a perfect partner for Deron Williams. However, that partnership could still happen if the Rockets push through with their plans of acquiring the Brooklyn Nets point guard.

Howard has played sparingly for the Nets due to injuries but now the man tagged as "Superman" in the NBA is back in harness. And his return was marked by an ugly incident with Garnett gave him a head-butt when the two players got entangled in the first quarter.

The fracas started when Howard was trying to catch a lob pass. After a foul was called, both players got into a shoving match. Garnett threw the ball at Howard and then moved towards him. Garnett left a head-butt and Howard retaliated when he threw an open-handed slap. Garnett was ejected as the Rockets went on to win handily, 113-99.
