Hatchimals news 2016: Toy sold out at Walmart, Target; will shipments make it in time for the holidays?

The Hatchimals toys are the all the rage for the Christmas season, but they have become impossible to get a hold of due to the high demand.

The supplies at Walmart, Target, and other retailers easily ran, out and it looks like some of the lucky ones who were able to purchase caught wind of the toy's popularity as they are now selling them at a ridiculously higher price compared to the regular $59.99.

However, parents and other buyers may have to wait it out. Retailers like Smyths, The Entertainer, and Toys R Us have Hatchimals shipments coming.

Smyths expect deliveries to arrive as early as Nov. 24 up to Dec. 1. The retailer will prioritize those who pre-ordered (the pre-order period is over though).

Those who were not able to pre-order can count on the remaining Hatchimals stocks if there will be. Parents are not needed to be advised to act fast on this one.

They can also sign up for The Entertainer to be alerted of any updates about the toy. To make sure, buyers can go to the nearest Toys R Us outlets as well when the store opens every day to be able to secure a Hatchimal when the shipments arrive.

Parents can also try their luck at Argos, John Lewis, and Stock Informer, but they should sign up for alerts of the Hatchimals delivery arrivals to be updated.

Outside of that, the best bet for shoppers as far as acquiring one goes is the third party sellers like CyberToyShop. There is also eBay with the lowest offer there at $150.

Those who are willing to wait it out will have to wait until next year. It looks like nabbing a Hatchimal toy this year will not be possible as Spin Master, the makers of the must-have Christmas toy has confirmed their stock has sold out ever since they hit the shelves last month.

The message as per Huffington Post reads, "The consumer response to Hatchimals has been extraordinary, exceeding all expectations. Some of our first shipments have already sold out."

It also went on to say, "While additional product will hit retail shelves in November, we anticipate this inventory will also sell out quickly."

"We have increased production and a whole new batch of Hatchimals will be ready to hatch in early 2017," the message added.

Hatchimals are sold as eggs slightly smaller than a football, which, when held by a person's hand, activates the doll inside until it hatches. Kids will not know the type of the doll, which includes Pengualas, Draggles, Owlicorns, Burtles, and Bearakeets, until it comes out.

When it does, it makes cute noises, its heart beats, and its eyes light up. Once it comes out, it can be "raised" and taught to walk, dance, speak and play games.
