Harrison Ford health condition latest update: Ford underwent surgery, condition improves

Hollywood actor Harrison Ford was rushed to the hospital following a plane crash In Venice, CA on March 5. Ford had to perform a crash-landing on a golf course as he could not make his way to the Santa Monica Airport. He was piloting a vintage World War II plane and the cause of the crash was reportedly due to engine failure.

According to a report from USA Today, Ford recently underwent surgery for his broken pelvis and ankle, but his publicist, Ina Treciokas, hasn't made any statement after this. The last time Treciokas updated the media and the public was on the day of the crash, saying that Ford didn't sustain "life-threatening" injuries, but will still need to recover under hospital care.

In a report from KLTA, Ford's head suffered from cuts and gashes when he was pulled out of the plane wreckage. However, Ford's family is expecting a full recovery from the "Indiana Jones" actor soon.

Nonetheless, despite the crash landing, many believed that what Ford did was heroic as he made the best decision he possibly could in a life-and-death situation. Ford was able to maneuver and crash-land the plane through a very small space on the golf course, realizing early on the need to prevent casualties.

"I would say that this is an absolutely beautifully executed — what we would call a forced or emergency landing, by an unbelievably well-trained pilot," Christian Fry of the Santa Monica Airport Association told the Associated Press.

A golfer and a witness named Eddie Aguglia shared his opinion with NBC News. "He risked life and limb by putting it down on the golf course instead of trying to go further to try to get back to the airport. Another 25 to 30 yards and... I don't want to think about it. He saved several lives."

Meanwhile, there was a tweet that Ben Ford, Harrison's son, reportedly sent out saying "We want (to) thank you all for your concern. Dad has the best care possible, on the mend and of strong mind, body & spirit." However, the tweet has been removed.
